MECHANICAL ENGINEERING INTERN

May - December 2018

Worked as an Engineering Intern at Life Formations. This international creative team specializing in animated figure creation is composed of sculptors, storytellers, machinists, engineers, illustrators and many more. Life Formations also works with such talented partners as Disney, Universal, Ripley's, Rousch, etc. During my time with Life Formations, I spoke with every department to get an idea of the processes developed for each stage of creation. I also gained very valuable experience in drafting and modeling in large projects. Several of these dynamic projects were composed of well over 5000 components. Some of the work I was able to get the chance to work on includes:

-Drafted and worked through the mechanical design of a 2,700 ft2 static structure.

-Led closeout procedures for projects to be delivered to international parks, each with dozens of characters.

-Digitally modeled mechanic and structural systems for 30+ various animated characters.

-Crafted circuitry schematics and technical components for large scale animatronic figures for Universal Creative.

-Had extensive hands-on experience with an ongoing WDI project to learn the fabrication and assembly processes.

MECHANICAL ENGINEERING INTERN

January- May 2016

Worked as an Engineering Intern at Invotec Engineering. Spoke with machinists to learn about various machine processes. Gained experience in drafting, modeling and stress analysis software. Worked on various projects such as:

- Welding Laser Diffuser. Reverse engineered a past design of an argon laser diffuser to fit current machinery.

- Safety Glasses Box. Redesigned a magnetic lock to help solve issues with safety in the workplace.

- Endmill Holder Design. Drafted a holder design for extra endmills and corner rounding end mills.

Custom mill design and development. Drafted and worked alongside a machinist to design a custom end mill for cutting away excess plastic from a part produced by a 3D printer.

Pre-development Research for Machine Line - Located and converted 2D and 3D model files for commercial parts necessary for a project.
